From the Pastor...

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will by my witnesses..." Acts 1:8

"Strengthened with all power according to His glorious might..."  Colossians 1:11

The inner life of Jesus was unique. It is the life of God loved out in a person. This life by His Spirit is given to every true believer. But it must be nurtured and sustained by a daily desire and decision to be in touch with the Lord; to receive the promised power to live His kind of life instead of our own self-oriented life. How serious can one be about this if they refuse to take time each day to come into God's presence in prayer and hear Him speak to their heart through His Word? HE HIMSELF IS OUR POWER. Time with Him brings the necessary strength to resist the influence and control of the present world system.

The call of God has not changed. The majority may adore the glitter, glamour and glory of this culture but the true believer has tasted qualities of another world. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him." Psalm 25:14. The love, joy and peace of God comes only to those who will receive the spiritual power to renounce and resist less things and partake of His inner life.

Here is an acrostic that can be used each morning to help you begin your day with Him.

P - Lord I PRESENT myself to You this day. I PRAISE You for Your goodness and love to me. Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 100:4

O - Lord OPEN my heart to Your Word and OPEN Your Word to my heart. Psalm 119:18, Eph 5:26, John 15:3

W - Lord WASH my heart and mind with Your truth. (Here read a portion of scripture)

E - Lord ENERGIZE me to do all I must do today in Your Spirit. Col 3:17

R - Lord please REMIND me of Your presence and power in every situation today. John 4:26

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the lord and in the power of His might." Ephesians 6:10

From the Pastor...

This life therefor is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness, not health, but healing, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it, the process is not yet finished, but it is going on, this is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.
- Martin Luther

Blessed is he who submits to the will of God; he can never be unhappy. Men may deal with him as they will... he is without care; he knows that 'all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.'
- Martin Luther

Cry for grace from God to be able to see God's hand in every trial, and then for grace.. to submit at once to it. Not only to submit, but to acquiesce, and to rejoice in it... I think there is generally an end to trouble when we get to that.
- Charles Spurgeon

If anyone could tell you the shortest, surest way to all happiness and perfection, he must tell you to make it a rule to yourself to thank and praise God for everything that happens to you. For it is certain that whatever seeming calamity happens to you, if you thank and praise God for it, you turn it into a blessing....
- William Law

I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work and my God.
- Helen Keller
